Wayne State University Law Professor Robert Sedler recently told the Detroit City Council that Detroit has the constitutional power to set up African Town. "The city has the constitutional power to establish an inner city business district and, above all, to use city funds and resources to assist Detroit residents to acquire, own and operate businesses located in Africantown," Sedler said.
